Note that as elsewhere on this site, I take the Simplified approach to stamps and rarely distinguish between perforation, watermark, paper or shade variants. Unlike Gibbons, I intend to list the first of each group of stamps, not the cheapest. As with GB, although the original intention was to show just the definitives, I have also included the pictorials and commemoratives. USA $1 stamps follow.

The images for many of the early (expensive) stamps have been provided by Rodolfo Torres Vazquez, thanks also to Tim Balm, both fellow members of FICC.

Page rewritten September 2012. Dartford Library now have the 2012 Gibbons Simplified, so I can update this page with new releases as soon as vol 6 is returned. I'll try to fill in the missing images and data at the same time. A comparison of the prices quoted might also be interesting.

These pages were written using my 2005 edition of Gibbons Simplified. My nearly local library at Dartford has recently acquired a set of 2011s, taking us to Christmas 2009, but I couldn't find a subsequent 1c stamp. Plenty of 37c, 39c, 42c and 44c, showing the gradual process of inflation and a few $1s which I will document below later, but no 1cs. I'll check this with my US sources. [Later...] too, late for my Gibbons, but I'm told (thanks Tim) that there is a 2012 1c Bobcat.
