H. Decker on Camping, C. Blackburn Miller on dogs, Walter E. Burton on
outdoor equipment. This volume is quite in good condition, maybe for the
cover which you can see has a tape on it to keep the bottom corner in good
condition. It measures about 6 x 9 inches. It has 289 pages and about 20
pages of nice old adds at the end. Very nice magazine

California) by Edith H. Blackburn, Illustrated by Frank Nicholas, Aladdin Books,
New York, 1954. Hardbound, 5 1/4" x 8" x 1", 191 pages. This book
is a discard from an elementary school library. It is in good condition,
spine/binding intact, the cover corners are rounded a bit. Inside cover pages
have paper residue where checkout information has been moved, "Discard
3-01" has been written in marker on one page, school name is stamped in
several places throughout book. The book cover is actually blue, I'm not sure
why the photo shows it to be green.

This is a great juvenile book about a
family that inherits a cabin in California with a lot of mystery. It's
very hard to find. The book is in pretty good shape, especially for an ex
library book. There are 155 tightly bound pages and it was published by
Sterling Publishing in 1956. There are the usual ex library markings. The
going price with a dust jacekt is $47, so you can see what a deal you can
get on this item.
If I win the auction, I'll know whether it
is the same Edith H. - can't quite tell from the picture.

This is an ex-state library book from 1957. It is a stated first edition
written by Florence Blackburn Thorne and published by Exposition Press,
Inc. This small 80 page hardback is in excellent condition with the only
flaws being the library stampings and a slightly dirty cover. The spine is
intact and firm and all pages are tightly bound. Be prepared to both laugh
and cry as you read these two true stories. The book is dedicated to:
"the memory of TWO SUPERB BEINGS who, though small in size, were
large enough in heart and courage to have given their lives for those they
loved best."
