Very
hard-to-find. This is an original 1967 large-format industry trade publication
Verve Records promotional ad for Blackburn and Snow, announcing the release of
"Stranger in a Strange Land"!! It measures approximately 14" x
9.5" overall (scanned on our oversize tabloid scanner), and is in great
shape: no stains or tears, graded "Fine". This is NOT a later reprint
(it has likely never been reprinted). Unlike an art print or even a concert
poster, this newsprint ad was actually designed to be seen by music industry
distributors and executives - and was published at one time only. A scarce and
distinctive piece for your frame.

2for1/Keep 1 Give 1 Away! BLESSED/Gospel CD
Take a heaping scoop of talent, various drops of personalities, and a
hefty amount of spirituality and you'll have the main ingredients to a
sanctified recipe known as "Blessed". The contemporary gospel
singing group who is taking gospel music to another level with their
smooth Contemporary sounds and precise harmony is stirring up conservation
and accumulating a following across the nation. The multi-talented group
on Ultimate Records gospel label, hailing from diverse backgrounds
consists of Cynthia Liggins Thomas, Angela F. Stewart, Rhonda Stewart
Singleton, and Joslyn Elliot Blackburn. They are definitely making
a name for themselves bringing flavor and style to the gospel, Christian
and secular genres, with their current self-titled CD "BLESSED"
an exciting and spiritually charged example of the ministry which is
rooted within them. The collection of testimonies, prayers and praise, on
this project, will help " set the captives free". Track List
1.Praise Him 2.I'm Free 3.He's Sweet (a cappella) 4.If You Wanna Love
5.The Gift of Life 6.Power 7.Trust In Me 8.I.O.U. My Life 9.God Said It

This is a european Holland-pressing of the LP Tricky Lofton &
Carmell Jones BRASS BAG arrangements by Gerald Wilson on the FONTANA
label. The record is in near mint condition, the cover is vg++ showing a
slight corner-bend and a punch hole in the lower left corner. Many PACIFIC
JAZZ recordings from the US were released in Europe on the Fontana label,
sometimes with different cover art. To my knowledge in this case it is the
same cover as on pacific Jazz. The record is sought after because of the
dark and groovy Big Band Jazz on the title track. Other musicians on this
record are (among others): Lou Blackburn, Wayne Henderson, Frank
Strazzeri, Leroy Vinnegar, Ron Jefferson. The titles are Side A: Brass
Bag, Canadian Sunset, Angel Eyes, Ow!, Side B: Celery stalks at midnight,
Mood indigo, Moten Swing, Bluer than that.Lou on album cover

Paul Blackburn
The British band Gomez is a 5-piece, consisting
of Ben Ottewell (vocals, guitar), Tom Gray (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Paul
Blackburn (bass, guitar), Olly Peacock (drums), and Ian Ball (vocals, guitar,
harmonica). Whereas the majority of up and coming British bands are either
retro-pop (a la Oasis), trip-hop (Portishead), or space-rock (Verve, Radiohead),
Gomez is one of the few to contain bluesy elements in their rock. Their debut
for Virgin Records, Bring It On, was praised in the rock press on both sides of
the Atlantic. They also received the distinguished Mercury Music Prize for
"1998 Album of the Year" in England, where they edged out such stiff
competition as Massive Attack's Mezzanine and The Verve's Urban Hymns
