Notes:
28.1 Uganda's first issues (Sc1-53, SG1-53) were produced on a typewriter by Rev. Ernest Millar of the Church Missionary Society. Then come a series of overprints on same (Sc54-68, SG55-76) and then some 'proper' stamps. All of the reverend's issues are expensive, but the best value is the 18986 SG55 1 anna black. The example shown is the 55a variant with a small "o" in POSTAGE.
28.2 Brunei was originally listed on page 18 as starting in 1906.  Scott lists the 1895 issue as Sc-A1 through SC-A10, as they were only usable locally. Gibbons numbers them normally, hence the move to this page.

Table 29

Notes:
29.1 Gibbons begins New Guinea in 1914 with surcharges on German stamps (New Britain in Scott), then 1915 with Australian overprints and surcharges. Scott starts in 1925 with a genuine New Guinea stamp and refers to 'previous issues [of] German New Guinea, New Britain [and] North West Pacific Islands'. Mackay refers to this as 'Territory of New Guinea'. see 1925. Mystery solved Dec 03 (thanks largely to an eBay auction I lost) this is German New Guinea.
29.2 Mackay dates the first Cameroun as 1896, Scott and Gibbons as 1897. The first real  Cameroun stamp is the splendid 1900 3pf brown, Kaiser's Yacht, Sc7, SG-K7.
29.3 After Togo's  1897 German o/p and 1900 real stamp, there followed a period from 1914 as a British Protectorate using of stamps from Togo and elsewhere. Then, from 1921 under French Mandate using Dahomey overprints and in 1924 another real Togo issue.
Other possibilities to feature are the first 1955 issue as an Autonomous Republic (1955 Sc330, SG192 in Gibbons; 1957 Sc332, SG194 in Scott) and the 1960 Independence Issue (Sc376 SG253).
Their first real commemorative is also a matter of debate: issues from 1931 are listed as Common Design Types and "as Cameroun" etc. My choice for the first commemorative is the 1955 Sc220, SG192 referred to above.
29.4 Gibbons list a 1941 Cameroun Airmail issue which doesn't appear in my 1976 Scott.
